Crow's Nest History
The Crow’s Nest has been serving Northern Michigan for more than 50 years. It was originally the home of Cross Village residents Andy and Sophie Wrona. In 1953 they transformed their house into the Crow Bar (Wrona is Polish for crow), which sold liquor and later food. They sold it to Harmon and Mary Ellen Hughes in 1971. One of the notable things the Hughes' did was install pizza ovens. In 1978 they sold the restaurant to Mary Ellen's cousin, Mike McElroy and his wife Linda, who changed the name to the Crow's Nest and also remodeled the restaurant, inside and out. And in 1997 the McElroys sold the Nest to Bob and Ann Vala who are the current owners. They have continued the tradition of delicious food and friendly service that our customers have come to expect.

Long known for our friendly and casual atmosphere and fine food, the Crow’s Nest Restaurant continues the tradition that began in 1953. Located 12 miles north of Harbor Springs and 1½ miles south of Cross Village on State Road, the Crow’s Nest menu offers something for everyone - we have seafood (including our much-loved Pan fried Perch), steaks, chicken, pastas, pizzas and sandwiches, fresh salads and homemade soups, as well as a children’s menu and a varied selection of beer and wine. During the summer, you can dine on our lovely patio and when the weather gets cold, you can sit by our nice, toasty warm woodstove. So come dine with us— we look forward to seeing you.
